Group Run+Training Info

Group Runs:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday

AM - 5 miles at 5 a.m. at the YMCA, 2500 W. Bethany Rd, Sycamore, rear (SW) corner of parking lot  Start/Finish Location MAP, Route MAP w/mileage options.

Usual distance is 5 miles, with other options available.
Saturday     

Meet at Sycamore Park Sports Complex, N. Airport Rd, 1/4 mile south of Rt. 64, (map here) to run the Great Western Trail.  Start is near the shelter at rearmost (SW) corner of park loop road.   Water is provided by NITRO along the route at approx. 2 mile intervals.

After snow arrives, start moves to YMCA, 2500 W. Bethany Road, Sycamore, rear (SW) corner of parking lot, until spring, with longer routes usually heading off towards the NIU campus.

Standard start times are:

7 AM from first Saturday in October to last Saturday in May,

6 AM from the first Saturday in June to last Saturday in September.

Half Marathon Schedule

NITRO will provide the training schedule, set out hydration for the long weekend Saturday run, and provide the camaraderie and fellowship during the run. This is beneficial for beginning to advanced runners, and included at no extra cost besides club membership.
